Should the veil be on the bus?

THE bus driver who asked a veiled girl to get off is told to “educate himself “. With France, Holland and Switzerland all bringing in burka bans, surely any confusion he had is forgivable. Drivers should ultimately have autonomy on who they allow on, and given the cash spent on bus CCTV, isn’t a strict line on all face masks fair enough? Alex Knight.

EVERYONE is ignoring the fact the driver also threw off a girl who wasn’t wearing the niqab, just a headscarf. The 7/7 terrorists didn’t have their faces covered either — are people going to call for a ban on backpacks next? Kay, NW6.

THE notion of government control of what we can wear is ludicrous, putting us on a par with North Korea where women are reportedly punished for wearing trousers. Benjamin.

UNTIL the Government bans veils, more and more people will take it on themselves to “ban” them in their presence. I’ll change to whichever supermarket chain takes this step first
